Looking for a processor in budget

I am programmer and video editor and casual gamer too. I want to buy CPU which is the best. I3-8100 or I3-7100 or wait for 8th gen Pentium processor. I am pairing with gtx 1050ti

Well i3-8100 would be better than the i3-7100; four cores vs two with hyper-threading.

But what is your overall budget? What GPU were you looking at getting?

AMD may offer better option for your situation, especially with new Ryzen line on the way.

I agree. Maybe look at the ryzen 1400 or 1500x for not much now. Plus boards are cheaper than current 8th generation Intel boards. The above poster is correct though, newer ryzen processors are supposed to be coming starting in April so you may want to let those come out and see what they look like, or you may get a deal on 1st generation ryzen chips if they get clearanced out.
