[SOLVED] Looking for a recommended GPU and PSU.

Current setup:

Gateway DX4860 i7 2600 3.4 GHz
16gb Corsair DDR3 1600
500gb Samsung 860 EVO SSD
1Tb WD blue 7200
Intel graphics
Factory PSU

The only thing I can't do on my PC is play newer games such as GTA V, CSGO, COD, Fortnite, etc. I'm looking for a GPU that won't break the bank completely but should still be able to run games coming out in the next few years in addition to the ones I listed. I was thinking maybe a GTX 1070 Ti? What do you think would be best for my PC in the $100-$300 range? More importantly, what reputable power supply unit should I use with this build? I'd like to reduce the chance of frying my internals when upgrading the PSU. Online calculators said I should require about 350-400W depending on the GPU?

Also, should I upgrade the CPU heatsink at the same time? Or is that not necessary?

I would go with a new RX 5700 or an used Vega 64. They are often cheaper than Nvidia options and perform about the same or better than the Gtx 1080. You should not have to change the Cpu heatsink, but if it's overheating you can dust out your system. For a good power supply I'd go with the Corsair TX-M 650 80 plus Gold which is enough for even a 2080ti and will last many years ahead.
If you care about looks in your system I would buy a new case which is optional. Then I would suggest the Fractal Design Focus G. A nice looking budget case with a side window and two front white led fans.

For me the GTX 1660 Super is great value at $230 and provides exceptional performance at 1080p and bottlenecking will not be a huge issue though it will be a bit. The 1660 Super has been reviewed very well for both performance and value.

As to Power Supply, I am a huge believer in a good quality PSU and a Gold rated one if possible. 550w should do the job and the EVGA G3 is excellent:

Not sure what you mean by PCIe 3 card but the suggestions we have provided will all work without any issues whatsoever. The Intel H67 Express chipset supports one PCI express GPU though it is PCIe 2 x16....

Personally a motherboard CPU change to a Ryzen 2600 for a $100 and then a B450 motherboard for $65 and 16 GB DDR4 3200 RAM at $65 would allow for a great upgrade bring you up to date..

Every single graphics card we have listed is PCI Gen three 16x and all of them should work without a motherboard connector bottleneck.
