By no means do I know much about computers; just the basics. And at my budget, it may be hard to find a laptop with an i5, or, let alone, i7 processor. But maybe?
1. What is your budget?
$0-800 (preferably no more than 700)
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Standard 15.6''; but this is not a big deal +/- in size is fine.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
No specified resolution, but, of course, the higher the better.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Anything for day to day use. It will be used on the go, and at home.
5. How much battery life do you need?
No specified battery life (this isn't a huge deal, but 5+ hours would be great)
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Not playing many games, but a bit of TF2 and Left For Dead 2 on at least 'medium' settings would be cool.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Going into video editing for YouTube within the year, so a computer with enough power to handle multitasking and editing.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
750GB+
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No specific site. Preferably one with free/cheap shipping.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
This needs to be a keeper for some time (staying away from cheap build quality).
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc?
A basic DVD player (with any added features) would work, but absolutely a player of some kind is necessary.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Asus and Lenovo I've heard great things about. Probably staying away from all the rest: HP, Dell, Acer, etc do to past experience/others' experiences; unless someone with more knowledge sheds light on my ignorance.
13. What country do you live in?
USA
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Looking for an Intel i5 or i7. No AMD. Preferably 2.0Ghz+, with a decent webcam.
Please feel free to ask me for more detail, I'm not extremely picky, and nothing above is set in stone. Thanks in advance.
