The review done here on the 5870 said that the 5850s were not ready for testing as of release time, they will be doing another review as soon as they get their hands on one im sure.
It's worth noting the techPowerUp 5850 benchmarks are simulated only (by underclocking, disabling a couple of SIMDs) - should be a good indication though nonetheless.
Four websites are listed as selling it
2 are taking pre-orders
one is selling it
and the fourth says they dont have stock but their supplier does [ which means nothing since most of the online e-tailers dont hold stock anyway ]
If it helps they are gouging on the price which is currently around 388 US dollars
We have sites here in Aus which listed the 5870 at $519 and quickly put the price up again to get the first spot in price search engines for the next week. Only pre-order though.

£202 in the UK (for the 5850) = $378 AUD & £310.00 = $580.55 (5870), I hope that doesn't cause a sharp intake of breath what with your 'little' dust problem.
I expect prices to drop sharply over the next 2 months, we always get gouged beyond belief with launches, and pre-launch prices are even worse. The i7 965 was $2600 pre-launch.
If thing's don't start happening soon you might get a call , the thing that bugs me is that we are in the 21st century and I want some instant gratification and I want it now!
i still have 60 day left for my step up, so hopefully nvidia come up with something with in this 2 month to fight back. even though it might not be dx11 compatible, but still maybe worth upgrading......finger crossed.
