Question Looking for a scanner that can work offline

I bought HP 2710e scanner but i am disappointed from the fact that it forces me to register on HP+ and also to be always online, even for the more basics uses.
The only solution to use my scanner, is to use a third party app for printing, scanning.

I am planning to return the HP scanner and buy a Canon one instead.
Do you know if Canon follows the same tactic (always online - forcing to register) or i can use the Canon scanners offline as well?

Also, do you know any good app for windows 10 for printing - scanning with some editing (rotate the scans, basic edit etc)?

You probably setup the instant ink option with the printer, that is why it wanted you to register and be online, so it can monitor your ink levels to send you the ink automatically. Any product that does not have that feature you can use offline without any issues.
