Question Looking for a sound card

Hello!

I'm looking for a sound card with an optical output which supports 5.1 surround and with a x1 PCI Express connection for the pc. My budget is around 50 euros. I'll be using it for gaming and music (sometimes movies). Does anyone has a nice recommendation? I've heard of the ASUS line, but I've read somewhere that the SPDIF in there cards can't output 5.1 (maybe some models).

Look into sound cards with real-time dolby / dts encoding. Games use raw HD audio (why they so big) so with an ordinary sound card with optical, you would only get two channels because audio isn't compressed on the fly to fit 5.1/7.1 channels over an optical cable.
