Hey forum, I have recently experienced a HDD crash and lost over 2tb of data. This has made me realise how important it is to have backups and redundancy's.
So I have been looking at NAS boxes and hard drives to go with them and here is what I am thinking of getting.
Netgear READYNAS NV+ v2 (DISKLESS) - RND4000 - $319.00 AUD
http://netgear.com.au/home/products/storage/prosumer/RND4000.aspx
http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/rnd4000-100ajs-netgear-rnd4000-readynas-p-50183.html
Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB x 4 - $115.50 AUD Each
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=120
http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/wd20earx-western-digital-caviar-green-p-51591.html
This totals to $782 AUD and I will not spend over $800 AUD. My question is this, can I do any better for my budget, performance and reliability wise.
Thanks
