Looking for a tough laptop for field work

Hello,
Am currently looking for a laptop with the following use case:

1- No gaming.
2- Good build quality to withstand slight physical abuse.
3- Metal body, not plastic. (for cool palm rest and aesthetics) (plastic bottom is fine).
4- To be used in field work, the laptop should be able to withstand some dust and heat.
5- Occasional high CPU-load applications.
6- A Powerful CPU for some future proofing.
7- Screen: 400+ nits, 1440p+, around 15 inch. Color accuracy and refresh rate are not important.
8- Hopefully, a sleek look since the cooling doesn't need to be very beefy.

The other aspects of the laptop are not important.
Can you suggest a couple?
Better be cheaper than the X1 Carbon :)

Thanks in advance.

Cheap or Tough or New.

Pick two.

The first time we looked at toughbooks from a cost perspective, they opted for a 3 laptop per person policy. Two free replacements, then departmental level charges for replacements.

They didn't consider the downtime such things would cause, after the first hundred drops, crushes, meltings, etc. Next time we offered hardware, toughbooks were on the menu.
