Looking for a way to fold a monitor down like a laptop screen?

I'm wondering if there's some sort of way to fold an existing monitor down so it is flat on the table to save space and look better? Short of screwing a hinge on to the table, is there anything I can do without damaging the table. I don't have much money to spend on this, so some sort of rackmount console thing is not an option - basically I want a large screen that looks like it's a laptop until you need to use it, if that makes sense?

thanks

there is no point to this...reasons....

-the back of monitors have slots/holes for venting. laying the monitor down increases your chances of spilling something in the monitor by a good factor

-any type of hinge/arm will be visable when the monitor is down. this will look horrible.

-a mounting arm/other device will cost money unless you know how to make your own.

-what exactly are you planning on hooking an arm/hinge device up to if not your desk? i suppose you could make some sort of steel baseplate but again its not worth the effort.

if you want a laptop, get a laptop. if you want to hide your computer, get a desk with doors.
