Well every time I post a thread a few people respond and either don't explain or never respond again, Why is that? Lets try this again.
Please if you can explain I'm trying to learn but sometimes it is difficult when someone says "Just go with the 970".

I'm looking at upgrading my CPU, Case, GPU, PSU, Monitor.

That motherboard is not very good and not recommended to be used with 8 core CPUs.

Changing form the 4300 to the 8320 isn;t going to be a big upgrade. I would just do the GPU for now, and then save up for switching to an i5.

Can I get your recommended board for the i5-4690k CPU?

Any Z97 board really. Something like an Asus Z97-A would be great, but there are some cheaper options if need be.

What about the MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX. Same price. I'm just planning ahead on this. If I'm not going to do the CPU now I will also wait on the PSU. I'm looking to upgrade for as close to $900 - $950 as I can. I cant do all of it in one go. Unless you can put together a build for me.

That is a great board.

$900 USD is enough to build an i5 system form scratch.

Ok do you recommend one the new MSI z170 boards?

You would have to buy one of the new CPUs as well, AND DDR4 RAM. It will get quite expensive.

Of the xfx r9 390 8gb or the Asus r9 390 8gb which would you recommend?

Probably ASUS only because they are better with warranty stuff.
