Currently I'm in the market for a new gaming monitor, I bought a 1920x1080 monitor about a year ago for about $100 on sale, not knowing much about the relationship between refresh rate and gaming performance at the time I bought one with 60hz refresh rate.

I've decided I want to start looking for a monitor with upwards of 120hz refresh, my question to you guys, is what 1920x1080 monitors do you recommend at 120hz+ refresh.

I am also open to moving up to 2560x1440 or a 4k monitor, money is a issue, try to keep your suggestions under $500

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350, 8 core, 4.4ghz
GPU: ASUS GTX 770 2gb
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 16gb
SSD: 256gb
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Solution
Hmm, well, if you want the best of both worlds, I'm afraid the Asus swift is the only option that I can find for 1440p with 144Hz and 1 ms response time. But if you want 1080p with 144Hz, here is one of them that's 24 inches, the 27 inch version is $100 more. It has 1 ms response time with built in speakers, comes with both HDMI and displayport.

Admirable
$500? If you had said $800, you could've had the best gaming experience of your life with the Asus Swift :) But which do you want? More Hz or higher picture quality, right now the Asus swift is the only 1440p with 144Hz of refresh rate that I know of. So which one do you want more, Hz or a bit better picture quality? :D

Edit: Well, forget what I said, you only have 2GB of VRAM for your GPU, you'll need at least 3GB for 1440p ultra.

I want the higher hz with good picture if possible, I'm dyslexic, and have to wear glasses for Astigmatism, so picture clarity is a big deal for me, especially when it comes to text.

Currently, my monitor has great clarity, at least, as far as I am used to at least. But at 60hz games don't look as smooth as I'd like them to.

EDIT: Ah yes, the ACER is what i've been looking at, wasn't sure if it was worth the price though.
