I am running into issues with my system as i upgraded it.Randomly the system will just stay responding but the display will go dark. It just makes the screen go black and the second moniter gets like white with dark 'scratches' for lack of terms. i used to have a FX-6300 as the CPU and msi 7850 2gb video card. i believe the problem is the power supply but i am uncertain as the video card barely fits in the case.I dont know what i would replace the current one with. Also if the mobo needs an upgrade i would understand. Any help would be awesome.

Did you just plug-and-play the video card? Or did you uninstall and reinstall the drivers and CCC? With the new card, that could be what's doing it.

I don't think it would be a power supply issue; that one has more than enough wattage for your setup and is of solid quality. Wouldn't hurt to test the voltage readings, but unless there's another reason to suspect it, I would look at things having to do with the components you changed first, and the display issue tends to point to the GPU.

i updated the drivers but didnt reinstall the ccc. I suspected the power supply because the card needs an 8pin and the PSU only has one of them which is going to the mobo. there was a six pin with 2 pin hanging off of it and those combined make 8.. Ill reinstall CCC tomorrow and see if it helps. it just happens like every other day not all the time.

Well, you can rest easy because a 6+2 pin plug is designed to work with either 6 or 8 depending on what the card needs. There is no danger; that's what that plug is for.

I hope the CCC reinstall works ... probably best to uninstall everything first - CCC, drivers, everything - then redo it all from scratch to be sure.
