hi i'm a new person,in here, i have a plan to upgrade my PC, this pc is very old acer aspire mc605 with standard spec, intel core i5 3350p, nvidia geforce gt 625, motherboard intel h61 with 8gb ram, and 200 psu, i want to upgrade the vga to nvidia gtx 1050ti and change the psu into 450/550 thermaltake brand, what you guys think? one more question, i'm going with msi nvidia 1050 gaming x 2g, but i don't know if my DDR3 RAM is compatible with GDDR5 graphic Ram type., any help is welcome.

Solution
CPU is now a bit dated for newer games, 8 GB of RAM is becoming a hindrance in some games, and, for sure you will need a bigger PSU...

At some point, you will have to ask yourself .... is it worth putting more money into a DDR3-based again i5 rig?

At some point, it might be wise to just stand pat and start saving for an entire new rig... (although you can take a GTX1050Ti and larger PSU with you, so, get at least a decent 550-600 watt unit from someone you've heard of)

Since your case is rather compact I highly recommend the seasonic M12II 520w. It's fully modular and thus you can avoid running into spaceissue and have a much easier time with the cables.
