I've got a gtx 1060 6gb and a ryzen5 1600 but for monitors, i got 2 old 1080p TVs and I want to get a bit more out of my system. I was considering a 144hz panel like samsung's QLED one but then i found out that a 2560*1080 ultrawide only costs 200 euros(samsung one was 280). So my questions are:
1) Will my system be able to run games at 2560*1080 over 60fps?
2) Is it worth to spend 80 more euros to get the samsung one? (Cheapest 144hz with specs i want)
I will be primarily playing rocket league pubg csgo and league of legends

For those games your 1060 can push the 1080p ultrawide. But don't expect it to run modern AAA games over 60fps with 1080p ultrawide.

What refresh rate is the ultrawide? If it is only 60hz, I would probably go with the Samsung 144hz because you will see the refresh rate difference with the games you listed.

Wow, feelingfroggy777. The topic of "afordable monitor" does not call for you to boast about your ridiculously priced Predator. But I guess you just have to justify and brag what you have. Spending 1k on a gaming monitor is foolish, imo.

Troughout my years of playing csgo, i can say that. A 144 hz monitor effects gameplay. The game has to support 144hz and have atleast frames that are near the refresh rate.

I was trying to help someone make a purchase decision based on my experience. Feel free to jump in when you have some value to bring to the conversation.

Most games that are not brand new have issues with ultrawide monitors 21:9. There are some programs that will run some games that are not designed for that scaling but it will look funny. Whatever you pick make sure it is just widescreen 16:9. That is what all games will run on even newer ones capable of 21:9 will scale properly on a 16:9 monitor. Ie.. 24" 27" 32" But IF you are just going to be playing NEW games (2017-2018) ultrawide would be fine.
