Starting a new build in a couple of days and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions as alternative to the following RAM https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...dr5-6400-cl32-memory-f5-6400j3239g16ga2-tz5rs which was suggested to me..
Doesn't need to be rgbWhat motherboard and CPU?
Do you insist on RGB?
Any particular reason that RAM is not acceptable?
32 CAS latency and 10 first word latency is toward the upper end.....you might not notice any difference if you spent less.

Ryzen depends on fast compatible ram for performance.
Go to the motherboard support ram qvl list and pick one of the kits that have actually been tested and found to work.
Or... go to a ram vendor and access their ram selection app for your motherboard and cpu combo.
Do not guess. Not all apparently similar ram will work without issue.
Buy only a supported kit.
I didnt appreciate there are compatability issues with RAM so cheers for clearing that up, you were right in your assumption, Ryzen 7 7800X3DWhat is your cpu?
Ram support differs according to the cpu type installed.
Here is the ram support list for your motherboard assuming a 7000 series processor.

The list is extensive.
Pick a kit from that list.
DDR5 6000MHz, Cl30 is still best buy for Ryzen 7xxx. Memory controller is at 5200MHz so 6000MHz is not much of OC. Faster than 6000MHz quickly produces diminishing gains.I didnt appreciate there are compatability issues with RAM so cheers for clearing that up, you were right in your assumption, Ryzen 7 7800X3D
