Here's the scenario... I have an I-Pod and would like to use it at work. The problem is that I would beat the crap out of it being as I am a contractor.

There are a lot of portable FM transmitters that will send the signal 20 to 30 feet. I would like to find one that will send the signal 150 to 200 feet, so that I can use walkman around the jobsite, tuned in to this transmitter.

Does anyone know if such a beast exists?

Thanks for the help.

I suspect, though I'm rusty on my radio stuff, that such a transmitter would be too powerful for the free/unregulated FCC rulings and would get up into amopunts of power where FCC would require llicensing. Just a quick guess though, without knowing particular jobsite, whether you'd have it in truck or in bed, particular truck and how it responds to passing through of particular frequency, etc ad nauseum

But that is part of why those things are such low power, so they don't have to deal with licensing.
