Looking for an object that can be used as a wifi transmitter?

I have a computer with internet and I want to use an items that i plug in a usb port and i can transmit wifi to my ipod touch or windows phone ...xbox ps3

i don't want a router.

I would just buy a wireless usb adapter and set up an ad hoc network between the wireless and the devices. You can share Internet with them if you want through ICS or a bridged network connection if your OS is Windows. I like the TP-Link TL-WN722N.
