Hi.

I remember watching a martial-arts movie from the 1990's when I was younger. It was about a cop (I think) who used a virtual reality program to improve his fighting skills. The virtual reality program would study his moves and improve each time he entered the program. So the fighting became progressively harder. The virtual reality either tried to get out of the computer or trapped the cop inside and he got beat-up by the boss character before he won and escaped or shut the program down.

Does anyone know the title?

I think it was called Virtual Cop. But nothing comes up with that title.

I think in this movie the cop would sit down and put on the VR equipment. Rather than be in those machines with the suit and headset that spins around.

The closest I could find on the IMDb is Virtual Combat 1995. But I saw enough of that on youtube and that is not the movie.

Thanks.

Hmmm... I thought maybe you meant Virtuosity (Russell Crowe & Denzel Washington from1995), but that's about a former cop participating in a VR experiment to see if they can catch a real-life serial killer...only to have the simulation escape into the real world.

Thanks for the reply spdragoo.

It's not Virtuosity. This was a B-movie. I think the lead character was an asian guy and his girlfriend was white. Most of the fighting was outdoors, I think.

I remember always wanting to play and watch the video game Virtua Cop and buy the Sega Saturn to play it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtua_Cop. Then I saw this B-Movie.
