Looking for an SSD this holiday season.

Hi, I'm looking to buy an SSD for my new build that will hold my OS and several games. There's 2 that I'm currently looking at.

Seagate 600 Series ST240HM000 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC

Which of these should I consider getting? Are there any better ones in the same price range?

samsung, intel, and crucial all make the best ssd's for all around performance and have the best warrantys. go with the samsung.

Get the 840 Evo. You can save some money here.

Note that even though it's an ebay listing you are buying from a name brand retailer's ebay storefront. Adoramacamera is the seller and I have bought from them before. You can tell by their ebay user rating how good they are.

I paid $260 for my old 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 when I bought it 3 years ago.

Off the 2 you mentioned, Samsung is way better than the Seagate 600. Better read/write, better IOPs, and even cheaper. Nothing more that you can ask for.

But practically thinking, are your 2 games that heavy to use 24gb? If not, go for 120GB versions. Should be sufficient.
