Looking for an upgrade for my HD5670

Good evening everybody,

I'm looking for an upgrade for my 1GB ATI HD5670. I am willing to go into the $200 range, but I'm having trouble finding a card as I do not want to bottleneck and kill my system. I'm having troubles primarily with figuring out if my motherboard can handle the newer card or if I have to change that as well. I'm thinking of switching to an Nvidia card since I hear they are better for gaming and that's primarily what I use my system for.

Currently my system specs are:

Dell Studio XPS 9100
Windows 10 64-bit
PSU 525W
Dell 05DN3X Motherboard
Intel i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz
1GB ATI HD5670
16GB of DDR3 RAM

For that much your options are either GTX960 or R9 380.

Thanks. I was looking at the 960. Just wanted a second opinion on whether my system would be able to handle it well or not.

the CPU is quite outdated but i don't think it will bottleneck 960 that much. the rest is fine.
