Hey guys i would like to know, is it an upgrade to go from i7 6700 to i5 8600K ? if yes then is it that noticeable or just a bit in Gaming ? (going to play battlefield 5 mostly )
system :
GPU 1080 gtx
MOBO asus rog strix z370
ddr4 16 GB 3200mhz
power supply 650W

Solution

I see. I think I would still wait. Going to a 8600k just isn't worth the $$$ in my opinion. If you're going to stick with Intel I would wait until the next year when Intel releases the 10 nm CPU's (Probably around this time next year). That would most likely be a significant upgrade. Besides, the z370 may not be compatible with them next year.
6700 is still very capable for gaming.
Yes the 8600K is better than 6700 as it has 2 more cores, but still the boost u are getting in games is not noticeable, probably within 5-10 fps

I agree with xeddiex. You'll need to upgrade the motherboard as well. You'll be spending over $300 for a new CPU and motherboard and only see about a 5-10 fps increase (at best). You're better off buying a CPU cooler and overclock the 6700k for the same 5-10 fps increase.

it's non (k) 6700, that's the problem..i mean i'm going to have z370 anywasy for future upgrading
