Looking for another processor from AMD

I was wondering if my current CPU is good for all the tasks today back when it was new in 2010. Is it worth it to upgrade to the FX 8350 or just wait for the new line of the processors from AMD to come out in 2016?

What is your current CPU and I prefer Intel but even I would say if you have the cash and your motherboard supports it get the 8350, from all the reviews and what people who own it have told me is that it is a very good CPU that can be nicely overclocked and rusn everything fine!!

What is tasks today? Gaming? video editing? watching video online? MS office? researching online?
it all about what you do with it.
if it gaming. are you lagging with the game you play with the setting you like? if not then just save your money until it lag and use that for your upgrade. price will only drop in time.
if it just ms office and video online. don't think it matter that much if it 2010 or 2015 cpu.

My current CPU is Phenom II X6 1090T

Since this CPU is so old I am worried about the newer higher end cards like the 4GB of vram or 2GB would bottleneck this CPU but minecraft runs 200+ fps and battlefield avg 30-40 on medium 1440x900 DayZ 20-30 fps if on normal without everything on high.

It's not dead yet.. Skip the fx8350 and buy next generation comes out next year. And this comes from a FX 8350 owner. It's not bad but there is no great gain with that purchase

What gpu are you using your cpu is on pair with a fx6300

Really? did they screw up with the line of 6300s I was looking at getting one. And my GPU is MSI cyclone R6850 Barts architecture

My GPU has a red and black cover on it without just the heatsink popping out as well as the fan

My GPU can handle 720p gaming just fine but I tried doing 1080p my games just cant run

The only bad thing that has happened with my CPU is there is a bent pin so when I tried to put it in the socket after installing the hyper 212 evo i had to put pressure because it wasn't level but it still works it sure is a tank and its lasted me 5 years

Buy a new gpu like the 280/280x then you are fine.

Then you have some headroom for some overcloking. The FX 6300 is a very good overcloker not hard to get it to 4.4

Thats how my dad had it when he had the 6300 or 4.5ghz at a stock clock of 3.5

Martin my CPU would probably bottleneck the 280x my dad had two 270xs in crossfire and they both bottlenecked the 6300

I agree, grab a 280 or 280X (assuming your PSU can handle it) and keep your Phenom X6. Wait for Zen or Skylake and upgrade then.

I have a 750 watt powersupply I can also grab an R9 270x for free
