I built my system about 3 months ago and will be using it to play Diablo 3 and a few other upcoming games.

I am trying to eliminate any bottlenecks I may have before those games release.

Here are my current specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX445WFGMBOX

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive I will be adding a SSD later this year most likely.

Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M4A1600C9

Motherboard: ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

Network Card: onboard

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Sound Card: onboard

Video Card: EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superclocked EE 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Your hard drive.

Then your onboard sound and network. The vid card is ok.

Finally but not last... for a game box, just have that game and windows along with maybe a firewall or router and some kind of anti virus and a clean external backup.

I suspect you don't want the pain of buying SSD's now. But believe me when I say a SSD in 6.0 or PCIe slot is way better than any spinning hard drive.

However I still use a stack of old 7200 rpm's from my parts box in several machines to hold music, video and data that does not require speed.
