Thanks a ton! Replaced the CX with an EVGA Gold Certified PCU and the Evo with the Cryorig H7.

and also that RAM is not compatible with he motherboard use a DDR4 16GB kit instead. Get a cheaper SSD like the 850EVO 250GB. you don't need that good SSD. also please post the correct link?

I'll take it, for sure :) Thanks for lowering my cart by $100+ with better gear! If you think that's all I need, I can close this discussion satisfied.

- 750w for this build are too much, a 650w would fits better (damns prices are soo low compared to Italy, and EVGA PSU 750w is 150€) this system consume 450w on full load
- you don't need a sound card if you don't have particular needs, the one included into the motherboard is enough;
- gtx960 isn't much worth better get a Sapphire R9 380 nitro, 10% faster and will be much better with DX12
- i think the ram you chose arent' low profile so you should get the Universal model of Cryorigh h5, honestly i would go for Corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz CL 15, or G.skill trident z 3200mhz cl 14
- good motherboard, but i would consider Asrock z170 extreme 4 (dunno if this brand is famous in America, but in Italy is more appreciated than ASUS and cost much less)

Really the thing is don't get a 1200w PSU for a 599w system. The more can be useful for future expansion, like 3 way SLI or a 6700k. And also as time goes, PSU ages, the total wattage output will decrease. So a 750w is good. and the sound card is part of a bundle with the OS, so it's up to him to break/keep bundle. And ram is okay, and the universal h5 is a good idea. Board is good, and gigabyte is quite durable in that case., but other brands are good I agree.

The 970 is fully compatible with the system and will increase your graphics performance greatly.

Dieffe:
As this was my first build, I was unaware that a sound card is included in the motherboard. Nooby lol. I removed the soundcard from the bundle and brought the price down quite a bit. I'm keeping the 750w battery because I'm hoping to upgrade my PC in the future. I kept the RAM because I'm not all that picky. Like Ryan said, it gets the job done.

Ryan_78:
I'm glad that the 970 will work well. Looking forward to its performance!

Both: I also replaced my previous internal fan with the H5A Universal. Now, for less wire management, I switched the 2.5" SSD with the M.2 of the same version. The M.2 is only a SMALL (I'm talking minuscule) bit slower than the 2.5" and it's definitely worth the switch. You can check the benchmarks in this vid like I did:

Now here's the edited build:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5lE94JLT1DEb3NGb0J2dG9lOUU/view?usp=sharing

I bundled the processor, RAM, Mobo, and the hard drive (as seen near the bottom) to see if there was a discount, but unfortunately not. Nonetheless, I'm still going to keep the bundle just for the hell of it. I also recognize that you only need 600 joules for the surge protector, but the one that I selected was the most convenient.

750w is the most useless size, imho! cause it's way overpowered for any single gpu configuration but it's way low for 2 Top AMD gpus. 650w is the best size for 1 card, it can power an overclocked cpu plus gpu and a case full of other stuff, 750w are enough for 2 nvidia (not 2 980ti) but are just tight for 2 r9 390. that size is not future proof.

but think about it. he is using a 970, unless he sells it for 2 980ti, then just getting another 970 is ok too, and maybe 6700k later, it would be fine, and BTW use the CM PSU wattage calculator

but really its up to him to decide. if he would want 2 980ti in the future sure, a 850w is perfect., and sure if not upgrading EVER, get a 650, or even 550 will do. anyways a 750 is middle ground for not the best but not unupgradable either

The height of what, the CPU fan? The CPU fan is 140mm and the case cap is 160mm.
