looking for best cable router

hi there ,looking for a new router but has to work with cable a little tricky to come by a good one i have a big house has alot of walls had a tech guy come out cause i thought problem with crappy internet was from provider but he told me due to big house router wont reach far and they need to be changed after 1-2 years , they havent changed my modem after 9 years or upgrade from cable to adsl2 or anything but i am sick of crap wi fi and changing router for the 100th time so i come here for some opinions on a really good trust worthy router.

If the speeds they are giving you haven't increased beyond the modem speeds allowed by your modem there really isn't a need for a new one. Most cable companies give free speed upgrades every number of years to keep you current with the rest of the world. I currently like Netgear equipment as it has been reliable and seems to give me no issues.

fair enough modem is pretty old but guy said there one of the best models they dont get wrecked as much its a Motorola sb5101 maybe its time to upgrade that aswell if you know of any good ones would be great to hear your opinion , hmm any ideas of a good netgear you would recommend ? have used tp-link last few times which they are absolute rubbish
