Hello! I'm currently looking for a good lcd monitor to replace my current one to go with my new computer system I'm ordering. I want it to have a high contrast ratio but one that will display not just games, but text accurately. Unfortunately I can shell out the big bucks for the nicer ones, but I do think I can get something for under 400. If you guys know of any, I'd appreciate the help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you! :)

Get the Hanns-G one on newegg... its a whopping 28" for just $460... definitely worth it. I'd nab it in a heartbeat if my heart wasn't set on a 2560x1600 monitor. Sorry, no time to post the link, just search hanns g on newegg.

He gave a 400$ Price cap... I would suggest you look into the ASUS line up they are putting out some very nice monitors these days for consumer price points.

UltimateSlayerVII why would you buy a monitor that is 2560x1600. They are complete garbage right now. First off no games are designed to have native resolution set to that, your lucky if your games have 1920x1200. I am digging this thread up because this holds true to todays standards and this was written in 08!

What games are you playing that are limited to 1920x1200? Lots of games these days allow you to select up to 2560x1600 (as long as your monitor and video card support it), though with a weak video card you might have to turn down some of the quality options. I know from personal experience that the first Neverwinter Nights (that came out in 2002!) is capable of running at 2560x1600.

Don't dig up old threads especially when you have nothing relevant to say.
