alo guys
I am going to upscale myold P4 PC
NEWSpecs:
AMD FX-8320
ASUS m5a97 r2.0
4 gb ram
amd radeon6670 1gb ddr5 (or higher)

Guys I already have a 400w power supply...my peripheral vendor advised me to buy a 500w coolmaster PSU
Should i go for it..and if i am not buying the GPU ri8 now can i use my 400 w PSU??
Please Help Guys
I ALSO would like some leeway for my hdds(i have 3 of em' which i would like to plg in sometimes)
and future dual GPU cards

Yes u will have to upscale to a better PSU and no u cant use a 400w PSU.. The AMD Fx-8320 is a power hungry beast and u will need a better PSU to feed it .. Also if u buy any GPU above ATI Raedon HD 7750 u will need a better PSU as they will require external 6-pin Power Adapter...

And in case u r are thinking about using 3 HDD's in Raid setup or doing a Crossfire even a 500w PSU will be less.. in that case go for a 600 or 700w PSU then

can i use the 400w psu for time being if i dont get any gpu .....and update it later wid a higher end gpu??

Yes u can use a 400w PSU without installing any GPU or even using a GPU like HD 7750 and update it later with a better one.. Anyways which 400w PSU do u own ? Is it branded or a generic one ?

although coolermaster is not that good of a psu but with your current config, that 500W PSU will bring all your hardwares to life without any problems 😉

its not a branded... its a 400w atx switching
output of +3.3v&18A
and +5 %23A..i dnt knw wht it means...
and the vendor advises dat my existing PSU willl render my board faulty...is it true

Naah go for a Corsair.. http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-vs550-550-watt-psu/p/itmdg36xx8yzgjrs?pid=PSUDG34775NHYDHK&ref=bec54cc4-aaa3-488a-b7a0-fa1b2fe6aa18

Cooler Master does not have very good after sale service in India.. Corsair has....

hmm well that depends if he's going to upgrade his rig later on. If he is going to upgrade, I insists you to not going cheap on PSUs and go for a good branded PSU like seasonic or corsair. if you are fine with the 6670 and not thinking of upgrading, go for the coolermaster
