which is better for gaming PC: core I3 3rd Gen or core I5 2nd Gen ?

Core 3rd gen processors uses less power than 2nd gen, and it is more powerful. It's in everything better than the 2nd gen, except K models, 2nd gen can overclock bit better. But it will generate much more heat.

I think he thought you were talking about an I5 second and I5 third generation instead of and I3 third generation and an I5 second generation.
But for games the I5 2nd gen will outperform the I3.

Oh it is i3 3rd generation not i5, sorry, I'm blind. i5 2nd generation is better then i3 3rd generation, like PCMACPC said.
