Not really. You want at least 16GB of RAM and rather than a hard disk drive, a solid state drive (SSD) would be VERY helpful.
Those would be right off the bat changes I'd want to make. If you're using the software at anything like a high level of complexity, you probably also want a much higher end graphics card or a workstation graphics card. A model recommended by 3Ds Max on it's product page is usually a safe bet, but I'd do the first two upgrades and then see how it performs for you before upgrading the graphics card.
If fact, I'd probably just try it with what you have and see, but I suspect you will need more memory and will want faster storage.
