HI I am putting together a gaming pc and would like some opinions as to how this system will perform and if any components are not suitable. thanks

CPU AMD fx9590
CPU cooler swiftech h220 with 2 nocua nf f12 fans
motherboard GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7
ram 4 x 4 16gig Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 MHz
power Corsair PSU AX850 Gold pro series 850w high power supply
Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 270X PCI-e 3 Graphics Card
Samsung 840 ssd 500gig
5x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm SATA3 3.5"Internal Hard Drive 6Gb/s (raid 5)

I think these are the main components, I realize the graphics card is fairly small for this machine and am considering a second one later to cross fire but think that I may need a bigger powersupply to do so, any thoughts?

How high could I expect to overclock this system

Appreciate your feedback

Roel

Solution
For a gaming PC, this is what I would change.

1. Ditch the 9590 and buy a 4690K (assuming you want to overclock).
2. Buy a Z97 motherboard (assuming you want to overclock).
3. Lose 8GB of RAM.
4. Buy a 700W PSU.
5. Buy a GTX 970.

Like the others have said, the 9590 gets horrendously hot and doesn't offer any performance advantage over an i5, which is much more efficient and runs much cooler. As a result, you'll be fine with a lesser PSU.

From a gaming perspective, the GPU should always take priority over the CPU. It's important to have a balanced build, but the GPU is the component that does the work, so that's where you should put your money.
