[SOLVED] Looking for Build Advice to Finish Off this Rig. Need graphics card and Monitor

I need some build advice for selecting a graphics card and monitor to finish off this rig.

I have ordered the following parts:

I only want to really play games on this pc at 1080p. Maybe at 1440p down the road.

I am trying to select a graphic card that won't bust the bank and will suit my needs.

The only games I would probably play on this rig are Cyberpunk, Farcry 6, Resident Evil the Village, CS:GO and any first person demanding shooter.

Other then that the rig would be used for casual internet browsing, email, youtube.

Ideally I would like to get a 3080 graphics card for this rig and call it a day but here in canada the cheapest I can find is roughly about $1000 and only goes up from there. I just don't know if a 3080 is overkill for what I am doing.

I have been looking at some graphics cards. I have no idea if they would be any good for this rig and what I want to do but here is what I am considering:

Good build ^^ although the cpu cooler is a bit weak for that cpu when it kicks into turbo boost (single tower w/ one 1200 RPM fan) and for a few dollars more you can get a board with better VRM's and audio codec.

So as it stands right now I already have ordered the parts about a month ago (fully paid for them) and they have arrived at the computer shop.

I went with 12700k as it was on sale at the time and it combo'd with Gigabyte Z690 AORUS PRO ATX LGA1700 for even greater savings.

I decided to go with the AORUS because it was on sale, it was DDR5, it had a lot of nice features and I wanted to just have some future proofing.

Yes I did look at the MAG B660M MORTAR, Asus PRIME B660-PLUS and the Asus Tuf Boards along with a slew of other boards. I was really on the fence as I was also literally considering those boards both of you suggested.

I knew if I went with boards you have suggested I could of saved alot more money considering the cost of DDR4 was wayyyyyyyy cheaper then DDR5.

But here we are.

I do have the money to buy a 3080.

But for what I am looking to do I think it would be a waste. I would honestly like to wait 3 more months and see if prices come down even further for GPU's but I am honestly just tired of waiting and need a card.

So I have been looking at the following cards:

1. Power Color Red Devil RT6600 XT
2. EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING
3. Power Color Red Devil RT 6650 XT (Newly Relaunched Card)
4. EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR 8 GB XC GAMING Video Card

I was initially looking at the Power Color Red Devil RT 6600XT as the price seemed ok. It has has good fps, 160w, runs cool and quiet on load and beat out the 3060 and at times the 3060ti at 1080p in various bench tests for games.

Even at 1440p Power Color Red Devil RT 6600XTit was still contending.

The downside of the card is its poor at ray tracing (which I have no idea if I really need)

I considered the 3060 as it has raytracing (not sure if I need it), 12GB of VRAM may help for future proofing.

The Power Color Red Devil RT6650 XT is just a beefier oc 6600. They up'd the watts from 160 to 200. It has higher clock and boost and seems to give better performance.

There alot of reviews and also benchmarks showing the 6650 beating out the 3060 and the 3060ti.

Unfortunately the test rigs all seem to use AMD cpu's for the testing with the cards and I have Intel machine. I have no idea if I would get similar results.

If you have to choose from these cards for the system I have built which would you choose and why:

You will find that AMD and Nvidia trade blows at these price points depending on the exact game. DLSS is nothing to dismiss either, it can do a good job at increasing performance while maintaining image clarity. FRSS from AMD is a little behind on this. If the games you are wanting to play most often are in those videos, go by that.

Well, the 12GB of VRAM is nice, but by the time you need that much VRAM you will likely be looking at needing a new graphics card (though on the 6700XT it makes more sense). This generation had two drives for the 12GB of VRAM. One was crypto mining which needed the larger amount of VRAM and the other is simple marketing. Larger numbers sell, even when they don't make sense.
