Hi guys, I just saw the hardocp article that compares a ti4600 and 8500, so I decided it was worth it to get the 4200. What do you think of the Gainward ultra 650 ti4200 64mb at $81, I found it on gameve.com, they're so so, according to resellerratings (7.59), I like it that it already has a composite tv out. There's also a Chaintech 64mb ti4200 for $89 at futurepowerpc, gpu at 250, mem at 512, tv-out (which I want) they're doing very well at rr.com (8.86) but they're very new. Lastly, an MSI 4200 8x 64mb at $82 at partspc.com, but they don't look good with 6.09 at rr.com, MSIs site doesn't even mention that model.

My MSI 128MB 4200 is excelent and would highly reccomend one.
On a Side note i have a gainward mx 440 64MB DDR too and I think it's a pretty nice card as well. I would say both companies are good and just go with the cheaper of the two.
Edited by one on 11/21/03 02:51 PM.

I know the older 128MB ones were 444MHz DDR, but the newer AGP8X ones are actually clocked slightly higher than the 64MB ones...512MHz DDR vs. 500MHz DDR.

The problem is that most of them have 4.0ns memory vs. the 64MB ones with 3.6ns chips, so you may have a bit better luck o/c'ing the 64MB one.

That said, mine with 4.0ns chips went to 600MHz without a problem.
