Looking for Cheap Upgrades or Problems in Current PC

My gaming experience seems to be lackluster. I get lag spikes in many games and my Nvidia GPU tends to cause games to be very graphically buggy.

For a rather low price, I would like to upgrade my PC (If my PC doesn't need to be upgraded and just needs to be cleaned out, inform me please). I was thinking about upgrading my GPU but if that's not the problem and I should upgrade another part, please let me know. Another suspicion of mine was my OS, Windows 10 and the matter of reverting back to Windows 8. The reason being is because I want to be able to play both new games and older games that I haven't gotten around to yet. My very maximum budget is about 400 dollars and my preferred budget is around 200-100 dollars. If anyone could just take a look at my PC specs and let me know what I should do, please do so. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

If I do decide to upgrade my graphics card, is this a worthy graphics card or should I go with something else?

ur current build is pretty gud...i wud suggest that u clean the system first and update all the drivers properly...specially the gpu driver...do a clean installation...
later on if u wanna upgrade then yes...gtx 960 is a gud option...

The NVidia GTX 960 is no longer something I would recommend with the AMD RX 480 coming out in a little over a week from now. The RX 480 will cost about the same as the 960 but it will have superior performance and is VR ready.

Why are people unselecting the answer OP chose? You can have your powers revoked if you abuse them. NEVER select or unselect an answer on a current thread (less than 2 months old)

Op, what is your power supply? If you don't know you can take off the side panel to your PC and it will say on the side of the power supply. Also the make and model is useful

That gtx 960 is overpriced since the release of new graphics card you can get a gtx 970 for nearly that price.

dont go for amd...thrs lots of problem from my experience...nvidia is much reliable even if its a little overpriced...its more future proof and resilient...if u r willing to wait then wait for gtx 1060...

@Hellfire13 - I never had any issues with the AMD Cards I've owned both in Windows and Linux.

this is total misinformation. ive owned multiple nvidia and amd cards over the years (geforce mx 440, ti 4600, radeon 9800 pro, radeon x1950gt, gtx 460, radeon 6870, radeon hd 7950, radeon hd 7970ghz, gtx 970 and gtx 980) and both are just as good as the other. quality has nothing to do with it. i had an hd 7970 for 4 years playing games daily on it. thing never skipped a beat. the supposed "driver problems" with AMD are bologna. nvidia being more "future proof" is also BS.

all that matters in performance and both companies have good cards at different price levels. my point is, please don't say this kind of crap again. its really annoying.

About the best answers, I misclicked twice last night as it was late and I was pretty tired.

Anyways, my power supply is EVGA 600B Bronze Power Supply and it is a 600W power supply. If you need me to specify deeper, I can take a look inside my tower.

read the post again...i have mentioned "from my experience"...i have seen 3 amd cards fail back to back in the past 8 months...we are here to give opinions as much as suggestions...accepting it and making the decision rests on the op...please refrain from giving orders...

You can pick up a used gtx 970 for under $200 right now, or else wait for the Rx 480 which is coming out june 29th and will be $199
