Looking for CPU and mobo (bang for the buck)

I recently got an ASUS Geforce GTX 960 2GB and I was wondering if I should upgrade my CPU and mobo because both are old models already(had it for 4 years). Although, I am still able to play some of the latest games with my current configuration.

I really want to do an upgrade already because I know that I will be bottlenecking my PC due to the fact that I have a low-end CPU and mobo. I am already using the 960 for about a week, mainly for games, and It's been going great. Any suggestions on what CPU+mobo I should buy to prevent bottleneck?

Current specs:

AMD Athlon ii X2 250 3.0Ghz
ECS MCP61M-M3 v2
Geforce gtx 960
4GB
Corsair VS450

Cheap end h150 and a i3 6100
Gaming z170 6600k
Gaming and streaming z170 6700k

Could go h170 6500 for somewhere in the middle

You will need new ddr4 ram and for the i5 and above id want a good quality 500w psu
