Looking for CRT for gaming.

I have a NEC Multisync LCD1700v which I love using for general stuff, the picture quality is great, colors are great and easy on the eyes. However I'm looking for a CRT to use for gaming. I don't care about the price, and I don't want a widescreen (you can still mention a widescreen CRT though I guess if you know of a great one). I plan to have both my CRT and LCD plugged in at the same time and have them displaying the same thing. So far from what I have read Viewsonic CRTs seem to be great, models I've been looking at so far are P227FB, G90fb and G225fb.

Unfortunately, your choices are very limited nowadays. Viewsonic makes some good monitors though, so I wouldn't hesitate purchasing one since Sony, Eizo et. al have seized production of CRTs. Both the Professional and the Graphics series are as high quality as CRT get in this post aperture grille (a.k.a. Trinitron) era. Still neck and shoulders above any TFT.

I agree. I have a 21" Viewsonic and it's very nice indeed. Just needs a small crane to life it

Well the GDM-FW900 if an obvious choice but good luck finding one. I know I'm glad I took the plunge and hope mine lasts forever....or least until SED

If you get a 21", make sure it is capable of a fast refresh rate. I have a Dell 21" with Trinitron technology (it may be older, I don't know), but it has great color and I think it is capable of 2560 x 2048 at 85 Hz refresh rate (or more, I don't know), but its native (sharpest) resolution is 1800 x 1440. Although the screen tweaks out sometimes, but it may just be mine that does (could be because of speakers, I don't know). I got mine refurbished.
