Greetings,

my old monitor just died yesterday.
I need new monitor and was thinking before ( did know that will have to buy new monitor soon) about new ACER XB270H (ISP, 144 Hz,G-sync), but problem is that ACER will be avilable in April (if will be) and I need new monitor now.

I realy dont like TN-panel.

I looking Dell U2715H, which is grate monitor but doesnt have G-sync and 144 Hz.
Are G-sync and 144 Hz realy so grate for gaming??
Im casual gamer mostly play strategy games, FRP games , dont play FPS-games (or maybe little for fun).
My graphic card is MSI GTX 980.

Is it worth waiting for ACER?

Thank you for helping me,

Toni

If you'r just a casual gamer , then 144Hz and G-sync are practically no use for you because you can barely see the difference between a 120Hz and 144Hz monitor. 144 Hz are basically used for highly competitive FPS games such as Counter Strike GO (1.6 in earlier days , i knoe :/). Where as G-sync is used for eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag, another feature for competitive FPS gaming.

One such monitor which satisfies the above is the Benq- XL2420G and XL2720G (look at the price tag)

As you said you don't play FPS , Dell U2715H is a good buy. I don't think it is worth to wait for Acer, esp. when it comes to monitors.

Also, after going through the pricing XL-2720G cost as much as the Dell U2713H. I've read on some forums that dell faces green tint issue (esp. with this monitor) while watching movies. If your a gamer then having a gaming monitor isn't bad either, but the Benq's are TN panel type(won't be off too much difference). So in the end it your choice , on which part you can compromise.
