Hello

I would like to build a semi-budget gaming PC. After some research i came up with these components:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/monardo/saved/3BKp.

The main objectives of the PC is to play present day games without any problems at max and future games at least on mid settings for the next 2 years (maybe this sounds very optimistic and/or stupid)

Secondary (optional) objectives are to throw in a second GPU (in the future) and maybe overclock CPU, hence the choice of MoBo. On the other hand I do not want to pay for something unrealistic and unnecessary. So here comes the main question(s).

a) The price seems a bit higher then I would like it to be. Where could I or should I reduce? Maybe not?

b) What do you think of the choice of parts. Please comment wherever you think it's wrong, especially about MoBo, RAM and PSU.

Thank you in advance

Today's games do OK with 8GB of RAM. You can always add more later if needed.

The Hyper 212 Evo http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 costs a lot less than the H100i and still does a great job.

The 850W PSU will allow GTX 770 SLI i.e adding a second card later. The Corsair CX600 is best avoided anyway, plus it won't allow a second GTX 760, let alone a second GTX 770.

The GTX 770 is about 25% better than the GTX 760.

The water cooler is not needed . A $30 CM Hyper 212 or Xigmatek GAIA will let you make any reasonable over clock
you only need about 3 .4 gig of RAM to run a game so 16 gig is wasted money . 2 x4 gig is plenty for a gamer
The hard drive is an enterprise drive . Use a WD blue or seagate barracuda

that saves you about a lot of money . Probably $180

To SLI two GTX 760's you will need a 700- 750 watt psu ,

You dont really need the corsair h100i. Like aevm said, I replaced with the cooler master hyper 212 evo. 16gb is really unnecessary unless you are doing video editing and 3d rendering, etc. With my build, you have a better gpu and WAY BETTER PSU. That psu is something you should never think about getting. Also my build is cheaper so now you have a good alternative.

I have basically the same setup, except mine is a Haswell with an Asus Z87, and my GTX760 is a Gigabyte.

Believe me: you'll cream it. It's a fantastic machine, runs everything I throw at it at 1080p.

OK, but do get the 850W PSU so he can add the second GTX 770. It's $35 more.
