Looking for feedback on upgrading my rig

Hello all! I built what was an outstanding gaming computer back in 2008. I just purchased a few upgrades for it and here is what I am sitting with now:

Originally:
Antec 1200 case
ASUS Rampage Formula Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz
4 GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066 SDRAM
EVGA GeForce GTX280
WD VelociRaptor 300GB HDD
Windows Vista 32 Bit

Purchased today for upgrade:
4 GB G.SKILL DDR2 1066 SDRAM
Kingston V300 240 GB SSD
Windows 7 Home 64 bit
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

In your opinion, is this going to be a viable rig for the forseeable future? I have a baby on the way now, so my once disposable income is now spoken for. Thanks for taking the time to read.

I'm astonished that you didn't get a core 2 quad as part of your upgrade.

Adding a Q9550 or q9650 will greatly boost your pc in games and other stuff.

Also, if you can afford the new cpu, also get a new gpu if you can.
