Hi, I am planning to buy HP Pavilion Gaming 15-cx0143which has following specs-

RAM- 8GB
PROCESSOR- i7-8750H
GPU- Nvidia GTX 1050ti

My main concern is I need a good battery life as I want to also use it at a university.. and 'hp' is claiming that the above specified laptop provides upto 11 hrs of mixed usage ans upto 8 hrs of video playback, so I want to know, is it true?

And can anyone suggest a laptop with good battery life and above specs under 1000 $?

Thanks,in advance..

Solution
I would sugest the Dell 7567, its an older model, so perhaps you could find one with a 4k display for a good price. It has a very good battery for its category.
I can sugest also the Lenovo Yoga 720, it has the option of 4k display a gtx 1050 core i7 7700hq, it also has thunderbolt 3.

As long as it uses the intel integrated graphics it should be able to get 6 hours of battery life. However the moment the gtx 1050ti engages your battery will be drained quickly. With gaming laptops getting good battery life is not really something that happens unless you have a crazy thick laptop with a huge battery.

Thanks for answering..
So can you suggest any laptop with 5-6 hrs of normal usage under 1000$?

I can suggest plenty of non gaming laptops that can do that. If you are just taking notes and whatnot it will keep using it's intel hd graphics it's just the moment a 3D application, game or heavy gpu load comes it, it will swap to the 1050ti.

I agree with Jaslion, that laptop will probably get 5-6 hours of NON-GAMING use (what I would call "normal usage"). When gaming, try to plug it in somewhere...you won't be gaming during class right 😉

Please,it will be a great help if you suggest..

Well, when it was new. My MSI GL62-7RE had 8 hours of video playback. For games without a power chord plugged in it would last 1.5-2 hours using medium settings and coolerboost fans set on. But after a year of downloading torrents all day and night plugged in, and long 8 hour gaming sessions plugged in the whole time and my negligence of running the battery calibration as advised it now only last 4 hours running videos and 1 hour gaming.

It has the i7( I forgot the version but its 7th gen)
A 1050ti
And a 120gb ssd
1tb hd
16gb of ram

Thanks for the reply....
