hi every one i have a laptop and i think its not that good for gaming , cz i always face a lot of fps drop during games (like gta 5 , and even gta 4 )
the specs of my current laptop :

"HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC"
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz
Memory : 8 GB DDR3
Graphics : Intel(R) HD Graphics , Nvidia GT740M 2GB dedicated
Hard Drive: 750GB
Operating System : Windows 8 (64-bit)

so i want to buy this new laptop :

Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-5500U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 (2.4 GHz, 4 MB cache, 2 cores)
Ram : 12 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB)
Hdd : 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA SSHD
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M (4 GB DDR3 dedicated)
Screen : 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal HD BrightView WLED-backlit (1366 x 768)
OS : Windows 8.1 64

so i want to know if this is a gaming laptop and do you advise me to buy this one
thanks a lot :)

Solution

thanks for ur reply , but can u give me a name of a geforce card or a laptop that would be a gaming one

Tell me your budget. I'll suggest you the right one

Alright Omar, here is What I found:

GTA V - High Settings @ 1080p, Gaming Benchmarks, Average FPS:

GTX 960M - 43 FPS
GTX 870M - 50.7 FPS
GTX 880M - 62.7 FPS
GTX 970M - 67 FPS
GTX 980M - 80.8 FPS

GTA V - Ultra Settings @ 1080p, Gaming Benchmarks, Average FPS:

GTX 960M - 18 FPS
GTX 870M - 21.1 FPS
GTX 880M - 26.8 FPS
GTX 970M - 28 FPS
GTX 980M - 35.6 FPS

If you're ok with less than 45 FPS @ 1080p high setting and you don't want to play on 1080p Ultra get a laptop that has GTX 960.

Otherwise get a laptop that has any of the above GTX cards that gives you 50+ FPS @ 1080p High Settings. The GTX 980M alone gives you playable FPS at 1080p Ultra settings. But it would be costly.

In the end, pick the one that best suits your budget. Cheers!

in my country everything is expansive but my budget is about 1350 $
and i will be verry happy with 40 fps in gta 5

Which country? And can you give link(s) to online shop in your country? So that, I can suggest you the right one in your currency itself.

im in Lebanon .. middle east
the top one i can find here is lenevo y50 (1700 $ )
and the second wish im asking you if it will be good for gaming is the
hp envy 15 k201ne (1350 $)
ps : IF gtx 850m 4 GB dedicated will give me 40 fps in gta5 .. this is what i want
will it give me 40 fps ?

Hey, I just noticed that the laptop you picked, with config:

Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-5500U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 (2.4 GHz, 4 MB cache, 2 cores)
Ram : 12 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB)
Hdd : 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA SSHD
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M (4 GB DDR3 dedicated)
Screen : 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal HD BrightView WLED-backlit (1366 x 768)
OS : Windows 8.1 64

has a resolution of only 1366 x 768. At this resolution the gaming benchmarks for notebooks suggest that in GTA V, you would get any from 50-65 FPS Average with medium-high graphical fidelity.

So I would say, you can very well go with this Intel's latest Broadwell Processor based laptop equipped with a reasonable GTX 850M, that can offer smoother GTA V experience @ 1366 x 768 resolutions.

GTA V Tips:

After getting the laptop that's equipped with GTX 850M make sure, you do the following, for great GTA V experience:
