I am looking for a good gaming monitor to use with my PS3. I need it for blu-ray games, movies, some computer games. Something <400 canadian, so far i have been looking at the Acer G24.
PRAD | Review Acer G24

I read that review and it said that the colors don't look the same in any area and the viewing angle is horrible :/ Even with that it is my top choice at the moment...

It needs to be 24" and needs to have HDMI, 1900x1200 or 1900x1080 (I would prefer 1900x1200 far more though)

I assume you mean Less than 400 canadian yes?

If you want good colours and good viewing angles, especially if your movie or game playing may not always be done at an arm's length or two and from different places then unfortunately a TN panel such as that may not be suitable.

You would have to go for a more expensive monitor.

yes I meant less then $400, I don't want the best of the best, whatever is the best under $400 with the the requirements in the OP.

BTW I read the review on the $700 Dell 2408WFP monitor and they said its not suitable for "Hardcore" gamers due to 2 frame input lag.

You own a ps3 I hardly think you come under that label

Sorry, that is mean. Still, don't let input lag put you off too much, there is more to online gaming than input lag.

Still, you may not get anything better than it for the money.

The cheapest and worst quality are TN panels, then arguably pva based panels and then IPS. That is the general wisdom on the net.

Personally I don't like TN panels for the shift in colours and other odd effects caused by shifting the angle you view them from, the larger the screen the worse it gets AFAIK.

Do you have any local shops which stock a variety of screens, it is the best way to check. See if you can fiddle with the settings as well.
