This is the best I have found:
https://deals.dell.com/en-us/productdetail/e0gd if anyone has nominations for alternatives id appreciate it. Or if you think its worth it to get the premium support from dell for some reason. I just want them to cover display/batt/mobo mainly you know?

This is for my girlfriend who has a serious desktop for gaming etc but just wants a laptop for office work/tasks type things. Email, google docs, web browsing, youtube.

Thanks

For $400 those i5 Inspirons are fine for a used/refurb system. The batteries cost about $80 for a real Dell one, so if the extended warranty is cheaper, it may be worth getting.
I unironically use a Raspberry Pi 400 for that... give it a fast micro-SD and USB-drive and it works. Cost me 95€ and is sufficient for small stuff like that.

But frankly, I imagine most notebooks in the same price range working for the tasks listed. Just make sure it got an SSD and avoid no-names, and else get the one with the cheapest price for the best hardware.

A base model iPad with a stand and a bluetooth keyboard would be faster and simpler for those tasks, with a higher quality display and more battery life than any of the laptops anywhere near the price range.

If you spring for an iPad Air you gain the USB-C port for easier accessory connectivity and a better display. iPads also have real resale value.

The Samsung tablets also have good displays, some of them are OLED.

If she was needing actual MS Office or other Windows applications, it'd be a different story.
