Hi im looking to transplant my old budget system to a new case and do some upgrading along the way. Im looking for a case that is fairly large with room to work in as this will be my first ever build. It would need to hold my current system as well as have good potential for future upgrading and adding extra hardware.

Current system...
Generic case
AMD fx 4100 quad core with Stock cooling fan
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3.0
Nvidia GeForce GTX 650ti ( its about 240mm long )
Samsung Evo 120 GB SSD
2 x 3.5 inch mechanical hard drive
650 w PSU

I am currently looking to upgrade the case and motherboard to something better. Next will be the CPU and the cooler will be looking to install an H100i water cooler so case should have this compatibility.

My budget for ( MOBO and case ) is approx £220 was considering the ASUS sabertooth 990fx rev 2 for the motherboard leaving about £100 for the case OR the ASUS crosshair v formula and cheaper case maybe Define R4 as i hear its good.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you upgrade the processor first so you can enjoy the improvement for a while. The new motherbd will pretty much leave with with the same thing you already have (minus a few features like more usb3 ports and esata). Your current Mobo supports an Fx8320/8350 as well as the 6300/6350.

If your current system is doing what yo need it to do then wait until you have saved up the entire build cost. New stuff will come out, prices will drop. Only but things you want that are on good sales but keep in mind it may mean they are about to be discontinued or replaced by newer models.
