Hi Guys

Im trying to find a good graphics card. I hope someone can help me with recommendations, since Im not very good at hardware :)

My motherboard is ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77.

Im looking for GDDR5 with 3GB, under $200 budget.
Im working on 2 monitors, main load for graphics card will be very heavy use on photoshop and graphic editing and a some gaming, for Fifa 15 - 16 (once it will be released), Witcher 3, Assassins Creed.

Graphics cards I Found:

XFX R9-280X-TDFD - was in $240-250 range but I found on ebay, used in good condition for $180.

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100363VX-3L Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 - found it for $189

Im not 100% sure they are compatible with my motherboard, all I know is my Motherboard has PCI Express 3.0 x16 and I assume these graphic cards will fit since they use that 3.0 slot. I dont know what else to consider, besides the computer case (i have ATX large one) and Poiwer supply unit (i have 750 installed)

Can you please recommend if they are any good, or if you know any other graphic cards that can fit in my needs and budget? :)

Thanks a million in advance :)

What PSU do you have? The 750 recommendation is based on an underpowered 750, if you have a good 700 your fine, I've got a water cooled HIS 290X in a Haswell build and a Asus 290X Matrix in my AMD rig, Have run both with CPU and GPUs OCed on good 650s and 700 Watt PSUs
Hi Jaswanth

Thank you for your answer.

Your recommended GPU goes for around $300, My budget is around $200. I found some GPUs that you recommended, used ones for $200 range, but Im not sure if its good idea to buy a used GPU.

Im sorry, if Im saying something stupid here : )) Im really newbie on hardware department. As far as I know, when buying video card, it can be somewhat damaged and you wont be able to notice it for maybe months, till it burns out or something, Im not sure, if its a good idea to buy an used GPU. Am I completely wrong here?

Thanks again Jaswanth :)

P.S. I see that Video card you recommended needs 750 PSU. I do have 750 PSU in my pc. However, does it mean that this GPU will need dedicated 750 Power and everything else will also require their portion of power? I mean, if I get this card will I need stronged PSU to supply both GPU and other components, or singe 750 PSU is good enough to supply the graphics card and other components as well ?

your right about that the gpu does require a dedicated 750 watt but as you wanted to surround game and render i suggested the GPU as it's a perfect match for your requirements but you can go for a 285 or 280 if you are willing to sacrifice a few frames per sec on 1080p....and i know that purchasing 2nd handed GPu is a wrong idea but i just mentioned it

Hi Guys

Thanks for answers again! I really appreciate it.

Well, finally I ordered XFX RADEON R9 290 947MHz 4GB DDR5 from amazon. ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GA3C662/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me= )

However, me being a not so smart person, I just found out that I have 700w Power Supply unit, so I will have to buy a new one as well, to support the new Graphic Card.

The new graphic card requires 750w, Im thinking to buy a PSU with a little more than that, just to be on safe side, to make sure it will have enough power to supply 3 HDDs, motherboard etc..

So, I was thinking to buy Cooler Master V850, found one with a normal price tag, used but in a good condition on ebay.

Found another one, little more expensive, also used but in a good condition on Amazon. Corsair Professional Series AX 850 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (AX850)

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Professional-Watt-Modular-AX850/dp/B003PJ6QW4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1434923080&sr=1-2&keywords=power+supply&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A3739096011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6906987011

Just to compare, my current PSU is Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus - 700W Power Supply ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171054 )

Im trying to stay in $100-150 range for the PSU - or less if possible :) and I have ATX type case.

Are any of these two models good for my Graphic Card? Is it ok to buy a used PSU or it can be tricky as the Graphic Card, where you might not encounter the problem for couple months and have your card burnt out after that, when you cant even return it?

Do you have any suggestions for other PSU ?

Thanks in advance : )))
