Looking for great 27-inch IPS monitor for under $500

In a month or two I'd like to upgrade to a 980Ti and I originally thought I wanted to go 1440p or 144hz(or both)Now, I realize this may have been a mistake if I wanted to get the most out of my card. I know now that I didn't really want a higher resolution or better performance. What I really wanted is a bigger monitor. My current IPS Dell is only around 22-23inches. It still has a beautiful image and it's been around two years ago that I purchased it. I'm just looking to go bigger and get the most out of the 980Ti. I don't want to upgrade that GPU for another 2-3yrs if I can help it. I just want something that's a little larger and will possibly give me superior colors.

This will be a gaming monitor for the most part. I don't really play a lot of competitive games. Single player and co op experiences if that helps someone help me.

1440p should work great with a 980ti

i am at 1440p with a heavily overclocked gtx970 with no problems

for a 27 inch i would personally say 1080p is too low anyway

In 2-3yrs, some of the newer games will advance in a lot of ways and the 980Ti may struggle at 1440p to runs some of those. 1080p is a safe bet. I'm not fully decided. I may still go 1440p, but you didn't list any great 1440p IPS monitors

theres too many monitors to pick from

i would suggest go to a pc shop and look at a 27 inch 1080p monitor

then look at a 27 inch 1440p and see the difference

and in 3 years time you will probably have replaced the 980ti with something newer any way
