Hmm Razer headphones are not known for their quality, definitely worth reading a few reviews first. Personally I use a set of Bose stereo headphones and they wipe the floor with all the 'gaming' headphones I have tried. All this 5.1 and 7.1 just doesn't work and if you really want download the Razer surround sound simulation software and your stereo set will sound like one of the claimed 5.1/7.2 sets. Gaming headsets tend to be very bass heavy with missing mid and high detail.

please dont go with razer, theyre terrible, the 7.1 via usb is a gimmick and everyone who knows audio knows to stay clear of fake surround, it sounds awful and tinny, if you want something good for on the go and for gaming id suggest you buy headphones and a seperate mic, if you can afford them then go with something like the audio technica ad700x and buy a desk mic, doesnt have to be anything special.

alright but I want an all in one headset and mic, I don't have to space for a desk mic at the minute, looking to pay around $150 or £100

theres not really many options for headsets with detachable mics that are good, theres things like astros but honestly they are pants. i dno what to suggest to you tbh mate.

i suppose you could get something like the steelseries siberia v2 which has a retractable mic that you cant really see when out and about, they sound pretty good too, the 3.5mm jack version.

Not the USB one but the Razer Kraken Pro does because it's not USB. And this version is cheaper.

But we all know razer headsets suck..... No audiophile will ever say razer is good because they know to stay away, my sennheiser g4me one headset has blown any other headset I've had out of this world including, astro a40s, corsair h1500, steelseries Siberia v2s and quite a few turtle beaches.

If all the Razer headsets suck then why do all the professionals where them whilst at home or at tournaments.

No I'm not trying to promote Razer. I joinged this forum a few weeks ago so I could help people out and solve their problems. I put Razer in my name because I like their products. All of their products are over priced but most reviews and tech lovers still like the products made by Razer, in fact most products have brilliant reviews.

I wrote Razer Gamer as my name because I use a Razer headset (Razer Kraken Pro), a Razer mouse (Razer Mamba), a Razer mouse mat (Razer Vespula) and a Razer gaming keypad (Razer Tartarus). I like gaming on my pc, and I love using my gear with my pc. I have not had any problems with my Razer equipement.
