Hello,
i use a desktop pc with a core i5 4440 and 16gb ram. The bios is AMI 2.15.1236. Win 10 is preinstall. I want to
remove win and install linuxcnc. In the bios bootoptions is only the harddisk and the win bootmanager.
Its only possible to enable/disable both. In what kind of way can i boot from a usb dvd player with the iso image?
I make some changes in the bios, but i am not able to find a bootmenu with the usb device. I testet some
Iso disks also dban diskeraser. With no disk is it possible to boot.
Many thanks for every answer
Hans

Your PC should have an option to allow you to manually select a boot device after start up. Are you saying that the USB DVD device is not showing in the list of items to select from?

Do you have the ability to use a USB flash drive with a bootable Linux distro on it?

From the BIOS, go to Settings ➜ Advanced ➜ Windows OS Configuration ➜ Secure Boot.

Now, click on “Secure Boot Support” and select the “Disabled” option for it. This will disable secure boot in American Megatrends BIOS.

Save and reboot go back into the bios and I suspect you should have more options and could change boot order. this might also be done with f12 on start up (probably).
