Looking for high speed sd card

Hi community,

I recently purchased an ultrabook with an 128GB ssd, which is awesome. However, I would like a little more ultra portable memory. Can anyone recommend an ultra high speed or just very fast SD card from newegg that has a 64GB capacity? I really need this extra space, but I need it to be fast and I honestly don't know much about SD card read and write speeds, what's fast, and what's slow. Thanks for any recs!

What you want to do is look for an SD card with a high class number. The class system for SD cards is basically a system for letting you know what sort of speeds are essentially guaranteed from that card. You can check on Wikipedia for the breakdown of the speeds per class, but essentially it's the higher the class the faster the guaranteed performance.

UHS1 is the latet greatest but you will need a uhs1 capable reader to see those speeds. Also speed could be limited by USB port if thats how your reader connects. usb2 limit is under 40mb/s real world usage if I remember right.
