hello everyone i hope this is the right section if its not please point me in the right direction i am not doing anything till march and i know alot can change between now and then but i wanted to get some ideas rolling in my head im looking to start streaming and ive already tryed but i suffer bad frames when in lets say diablo 3 this is my computer atm

mobo: MSI H61M-P23 Intel H61 Chipset DDR3 mATX Mainboard w/ 1 Gen2 PCIe & 3 PCIe X1 [B3 Stepping]

cpu: i5 2500 @ 3.30 (i did not plan on OC'ing) also can someone tell me how much worse the i5 2500 is then the i5 2500k if u did not plan on over clocking also i don't know if its ivy bridge or w/e

gpu: 1 gtx 550 ti 2GB

psu: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified

ram: 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH @ 1333

os: windows 7 64-bit

i do not know if its my gpu or cpu making me suffer bad fps im assuming its gpu because its a really bad card but i am thinking about buying maybe a gtx 670 come around march but if anyone has any better ideas on what to do to make my system better please do tell me i have a 400 dollar budget. more then likely cant go over and that includes tax+shipping

other info: i am streaming to twitch tv useing xsplit with a 36 down 7 up connection if its any help

get a 660ti power edition as itll give fairly similar performance to a 670 once you overclock it

Hi,

Your setup looks more then good for HQ D3 gaming. What resolution are you using and what graphic settings? Did you try another game of similar quality yet and see if your drivers might be the problem. Assuming the drivers are all up to date, please check if you have the "ambient occlusion settings" in the Nvidia control panel disabled. That can take a big hit on the performance.

Also, latency (ping) is a big driver for lag free gaming as you probably know. Do you have the same problems in single player? I also heard that the the 550 Ti's have a problem automatically switching from 2D to 3D rendering after you watched a cinematic movie for example.

You can check this by using a tool called MSI afterburner and setting up a log file which tracks the core frequency of the card over time. Interesting would also be your temps on the card while you play because the card would, if too hot, switch back to 2D mode as well.
Afterburner is also logging the core temps of the GPU. Please post the log files when you have them.

Let me know if you want to go on with the troubleshooting but upgrading the GPU is not unnecessary.

$400 is not enough to get a decent gaming computer. The cheapest i can make it with still decent components is $480 and this is without a dedicated GPU. This build is a good option as it will allow you to get a good dedicated video card later down the track.
