I just wanted to get some feed back (any potential issues, bottlenecking, etc.) on my PC build that I wanted to put together. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Further information: I have x2 8GB Rip Jaws RAM sticks that may or may not work in my old PC / X2 optical drives x1 is Blu Ray
Is there anything that I am missing otherwise?

Solution
Keep in mind, you need a Z-series mobo to run your RAM any higher than the "max supported" on your CPU also (DDR4-2666 in this case)

Cooling compatibility is based on the CPU socket (LGAxxxx or AMx). All mobos for a CPU are equal in this regard since the socket is a standard.

I'd look into an H-series motherboard. You have a non-K (non-unlocked) processor of the 8th gen, on a Z-series motherboard which is made for overclockable 9th gen Intel chips. Unless there's something on this board you literally cannot lose, even then Z390 is overkill, Z370 is the chipset that "belongs" with your 8th gen chip choice.

I hadn't thought of that. What do you think about this mobo:

MSI Z370 GAMING PLUS LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

Only $10 cheaper anyway. Are there other brands that are good quality that I should be looking out for? I don't think this would change any compatibility with the water cooling cpu fan right?
